Our Outreach Programs
CAFÉ - Companion Animals need Food Everyday
Because Red Door believes that the connection between humans
and animals is a vital and important one, it sponsors CAFE, an animal
food pantry that enables senior citizens and others with low-income
means to receive food for their pets at no charge.
We will be working
with the Howard Area Community Center, at 7648 North Paulina, on the last
Thursday of every month from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
HEARTS - Helping Each Animal Reach Temporary Shelter
Because more animals than Red Door can accommodate need help,
the HEARTS program was created. HEARTS is a foster home program that
provides nurturing care in private residences until an animal can be
admitted to the shelter.
PeTS - Pet Technical Support
PeTS is a free phone counseling service run by Red Door for
any person with questions about the care and behavior of their pet,
whether it was adopted from Red Door or not.
